Started work this week on a recipe book for Malletti's pizzeria in Soho. If you work in town, you know it. Without doubt it's one of LDN's finest. I've been going there for ten years plus now and swear by it. The slices... the pasta... I'm salivating just thinking about it. Consistently excellent, lovingly produced and they have by far the most beautiful, charming and wonderful staff to ever work in town (Silvia, I'm talking about you.)
Fingers crossed this project will do them justice. Thanks again to everyone there for making this happen.
[Also props to Books for Cooks in Notting Hill for the advice, research and support. Another of LDN's finest.]
Ryan kindly took a few snaps of the pitch book on is phone before we went to the meeting. I owe you brother.
Working alongside Enjoythis I was entrusted to come up with a logo treatment and art direction for a new London based studio.
Given that there are a dozen practices under one roof all with very different styles, the challenge was to create something that didn't impose on the work but still had some identity. (And also something that everyone was happy with.)
Opting for OCRB, a very minimal font that wouldn't interfere with the work I added a bar over the top - a symbol common in maths to denote groups - and after much discussion went with the lowercase stacked logo displayed.
Also shown are a few rough layouts on the website that I delivered to Enjoythis.
