Having suffered from depression recently, I started working on an idea based on the notion of happiness. It's still very much in development but I'm hoping that with a little focus I'll be able to work out where to take it.
I've posted here a spread from one possible direction the project may take. The black background is a reference to Churchill's name for depression, 'The black dog' (a route a may take quite literally) that I've coupled with a quote that always resonated with me from John Milton.
The smiley face is a very obvious and cliched image but I'm particularly interested in the yellow as it is said to be the colour that the eye is most receptive to. I'm wondering if through using that as the base colour in the project I can suggest that it's something we are all receptive to, both happiness and depression.
I'll post more of this as and when.
